These Are the Decor Items I Always Shop for on Amazon

Amazon is good for a lot of things: low prices, super-fast shipping and a wide range of items, to name just a few. But one thing it is not known for is its curated product selection. Scrolling through Amazon is really a lesson in patience, because you have to bypass a lot of garbage to find something that is really worth buying, and this is especially true for Amazon Home Decor. It’s not like other retailer websites where you can browse deliberately selected collections of items like in a store and get some idea of the style or level of quality you expect. It’s kind of a Wild West on Amazon, but you can still find amazing hidden gems if you know where to look.

As a home writer, buying furniture and decoration is basically my job, but I also do a lot of shopping for my own home on Amazon. Here are all the home accessories that I always buy on Amazon, as well as some of my favorite finds:

1. work Of art

If you are looking for unique and affordable works of art, Etsy may be the first retailer that comes to mind, but I’m here to tell you that Amazon’s choice could be even better. Unlike Etsy, where most artwork comes in the form of digital downloads that you have to print yourself, Amazon has tons of fine art prints and framed options ready at your doorstep. I found an amazing piece of art on Amazon that looks like a Vintage painting that I may have found at a flea market — in fact, I brought it to my door in two days.

2. throw pillowcases

Swapping out your pillows is one of the easiest ways to update your home decor from season to season, and Amazon is undoubtedly the cheapest place to stock up on different options. More often than not, you will find pillowcases that do not include an insert, which usually makes them cheaper than the all-in-one variant that you usually buy elsewhere. In addition, they fold flat, which makes them much easier to store between uses.

3. curtain

Curtains are among the household items that are easy to slip on, because they are usually expensive, and it is always difficult to determine which size to buy and how exactly to hang them. But once you’re ready to take the plunge, Amazon should be the first place you look. I bought curtains from Amazon for four different rooms in my house, and I was impressed every time. You can find all the different sizes, materials and transparency levels in order to get exactly what you want without having to pay a fortune for custom-made curtains. Not to brag or anything, but I’ve never spent more than $40 on curtains from Amazon, while similar options from other retailers can cost hundreds of dollars.

4. Accent Furniture

Amazon may not be the retailer you turn to when buying large pieces of furniture like sofas, but for smaller accent pieces? You can bet on it. Coffee tables, bedside tables, storage cabinets and side tables are great pieces that you can buy on Amazon. There are so many different styles and sizes, and the prices are often much more affordable than what you will find elsewhere.

5. Oversized Mirrors

Speaking of expensive items, oversized mirrors-whether you prefer the round, domed or full style-can be a significant investment. With most retailers, you can expect to pay a few hundred dollars for a very large one, but this is not the case with Amazon. You can find tons of different styles that cost less than $100, even for a full-length mirror. I personally bought one for my room on Amazon, and the price I paid was an absolute bargain for the size.
