It’s no secret that stripes also mean a rather preppy energy, borrowing heavily from the classic, often simple style. For me, I spent years avoiding this type of maritime attitude, only to be naturally corrected this Season when I discovered a plethora of neo-nautical designs. While I considered them as a pattern strictly monopolized by J. Crew, Breton-style stripes have been reinterpreted this season by brands such as Tanya Taylor, Donni and Rhode.
And while you are considering stripes as a summer must-have, think again: designers have offered us a number of options all year round. A lot of people hang up their stripes after Labor Day, but in my opinion, this is exactly the time to stay on your toes.
